A Targeted Business
When it comes to choosing a business idea, I feel that most
entrepreneurs are faced with the biggest quandary. Should I choose something
that would be best for me, or should I choose something that will draw a bigger
customer base?
The biggest problem of the
question above is that it only allows for two options, when most business allow
for both. How can this be?
First off, we need to remove
the subjectiveness of it and insert something in its place. How do you know
what is best for you? What we need instead is passion. Applying
passion into whatever we decide to do is a personal choice. It is the link that
can combine these two seemingly different ideas.
If you are looking to run a
business, and I don't mean as a secondary goal, then you will be able to place
the proper passion into place. If you are looking to sell a specific product
that you have created, then your passion is on the product, and not the
business. The business becomes secondary and while your product my do very
well, your business is open to fail.
However, if you put your
passion into your business first, that passion will trickle down into your
product naturally. My suggestion is this. Regardless if you put choose your
product first, choose one that will be best for your selected customer base,
and then build the business that would be best for you to do so.
Businesses are, in a way,
metaphysical processing plants. They will take your passion, time, and of
course money, and transform them into a product and experience that will enrich
your life. If you neglect the metaphysical components and only apply the
physical to the business, it will not matter whether your business is
successful or not. It will fail you.
