Why a Life Plan

"Just because a house of cards falls down, doesn't mean the table is going to fall with it"

When I signed up to Introduction to Entrepreneurship, I was a bit apprehensive that the material covered would be either over my head or simple procedures I already have down. Fortunately, it is neither. The concept of creating a life plan that your business plan will model makes sense in my mind. The greatest fear I have is that by creating a start up business, My life will be inexorably tied to it; If the business fails, so will my marriage and my life. But a foundation of a life plan, something solid in which to build my business on, resolves that fear. Just because a house of cards falls down, doesn't mean the table is going to fall with it.

However, although I understand the relation of the Hero's Journey with the entrepreneur's, the way the course books are written are off putting. They have the same format as many self help books. Most of those are written to give you the inclination that if you read their book, you will be rich, or have friends, or better looking. While I have recognized that these books are not that way - they are sincerely helpful - it is something I am going to have to overcome.

Going to class has indeed made me excited to dive right into my startup company. Albeit I do indeed wish to wait until I understand the principles of My Life Plan before I dive in.
